What we collect
We don't ask you for anything. There are no accounts, newsletter forms or comment forms, and the only cookies on the site are the Google Analytics ones described below.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count page views and clicks on links to merchants, and to see roughly where visitors come from. A click count records the guide, link position, merchant and product. It shows interest, not a purchase.
Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to two years and let it recognize a returning browser. Google receives the page you view, the page you came from, your approximate location and details of your device and browser. Google explains how it uses this information.
We turn off Google's advertising features, including ad personalization and Google signals. We don't load Google Analytics on the search page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't load it anywhere. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, its cookies are off, though Google still receives the same measurement requests without them. You can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Search
Search runs in your browser against a static file of published guides. Your query isn't sent to us or anyone else as part of searching. It does appear in the page address so you can bookmark it, which means it stays in your own browser history.
Hosting
Like any website, our hosting provider receives the standard details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, and may keep them in operational logs. We don't use those logs to identify visitors.
Links to merchants
Links to merchants and other sites take you to their pages, where their own privacy policies and cookies apply. Those sites can tell you arrived from FilterWorth. We don't send them your name, email address or any other personal details, because we don't have them.
Changes
This page describes the site as it runs today. If that changes, for example when affiliate links or a new analytics tool are added, we'll update this page first.
